Google Now - Reminders

Let me start off by saying that yes, I am obsessed with Google Now. And yes, I know that reminders have been built into Siri/iOS for a couple of years now. But I digress...

If you have Google Now and haven't had a chance to use Reminders, I suggest you do. It works SO well, and it's a feature that makes a huge difference in my daily life. I always seem to have various little tasks I need to do that I think of, but they might be "due" later today, or tomorrow, or a month from now. Enter: Google Now Reminders.

You simply speak (or I found you can type) "Remind me to buy milk when I get home" and it'll pop up with a card that confirms the details and the time or location (depending on what you said). For time, you can do a custom time, or you can tell it "tomorrow afternoon" and it'll notify you. This has been amazing. It's better than a standalone tasks app for quick reminders IMO. It'll work for reminders in the future. And it even works through Google Search on your desktop when you search for something like a new movie or holiday. Definitely works, and works well.

Just a quick anecdote; I needed to stop by the store on my way home from work to buy a few things, so I set a reminder using Google Now ("Remind me to buy ____ when I get home"). When I got off the train and was walking down the platform, my Nexus buzzed and BOOM, notification reminding me to buy the stuff. So it works as advertised.

Couple of tips: If you're in an environment where you can't speak, you can go to settings and choose Add Reminder. Or you can just type in "Add Reminder" into the search box and it'll pop up with a blank card. You can even type in the entire reminder, "Remind me to buy milk tonight" and it'll still work.
