Xbox One and Cord Cutters
After looking at the entertainment features of the Xbox One, I realized that I won't be able to take advantage of them all. I'm a cord cutter. I went ahead and ditched cable. In fact, I have my Xbox 360 to thank for that. Between all of the TV apps on that thing, I was able to get access to everything that I used to watch on TV for a fraction of the price.
Whereas the 360 seemed to scream "let me replace your cable box," the One seems to say "let me be your cable box." It's like they want me to go ahead and reconnect the cord that they helped to unplug before. If I don't, I won't get to switch between gaming and watching instantly, or let the Xbox be my guide for what to watch, etc.
Now I realize that I'm in the minority here. Most people still have an active cable subscription of some sort. And I'm assuming that most of the TV replacement apps from the 360 will be available on the One. But still, I can't help but feel like cord cutters have been relegated to a side status from what I've seen so far. I'll wait until everything is finalized though before making any actual judgements.
