Anyone considering moving on from Photoshop to Pixelmator?
Now, I've always liked Pixelmator, but I have always been using Photoshop because it's something I have to use for work. If it wasn't for my job, I wouldn't have much access to Creative Suite outside of pirating it.
With Adobe's new subscription plans coming up, I don't know how IT is going to handle these upgrades, and frankly, I think they take way too long approving software for our computers, so I think it's about time to think of a better plan for my own Macbook Air.
I've been considering jumping ship and going all Pixelmator ever since its newest update. Simply put, it's amazing! It takes most of the best features of Photoshop and throws in a user-friendly UI. At $15, it's a no-brainer.
Is anyone else considering the switch? Of course, I can still use my favorite apps like Photoshop, InDesign, and Lightroom, but a couple of years down the road, I don't know if they'll be compatible with the latest versions of OSX. Here's to hoping Apple updates the iWork suite. I would love to see how Pages evolves as a worthy InDesign alternative (are there any others?)...
For now, Pixelmator looks like the perfect solution, blending an awesome UI with most of the functionality people need out of Photoshop.
