Dude I Bought A Dell (and I have questions...)
Definitely my first post here but I just bought the 4th Gen Haswell version of the Dell XPS One 27 to begin my ultimate photo editing station dream. I went with the top end model with the plan to swap out the 32gb mSata SSD drive (Intel RST enabled for caching) for a 256gb msata drive and the 2tb HDD for a 512gb Samsung 840 pro SSD. I have a NAS RAID setup for further storage through the thundebolt port but I can't figure out how to copy or reinstall my current OS on the new mSata drive. Any thoughts from the Microsoft Tribe? Part of the problem is the Intel RST. If I image the OS with RST on it won't recover when I turn the RST off (no need for caching a larger SSD). If I turn off the RST on the original drives I get a black scree/blue screen when I try and get back in to image the OS w/o RST on. Is there any way to get this done? I've heard people mention creating a bootable flash drive but I'm not sure how I should do this. Any help would be much appreciated!
