Do We Really Need Lockscreen Widgets?
Months after lockscreen widgets have been implemented on 4.2.x, I realized that I am actually only using 1 lockscreen widget since: DashClock and its extensions; 2 if you count the camera, which is not really a widget.
I've tried other widgets like other clocks and Google Now, but I just don't find much of a use case for lockscreen widgets other than DashClock and I am wondering if I am alone in this who's not realizing much of the lockscreen widgets' potentials.
Maybe we don't really need lockscreen widgets. Maybe all we really needed is a way to implement notifications on our lockscreens the way DashClock does, and not just for apps with plugins, but for every other app that can post notifications on the notification bar.
