Anyone else just love how metal wears?

I'm holding a heavily worn black Razr V3, and I'm just loving the look of the worn aluminum. I'ts got a battle-hardened look to it - the bare, silver metal shining through the scratches and the edges where the black anodization's worn off, and adding interesting patterns and shapes to an otherwise boring looking surface.

My friend has a worn Droid X, and it comes off looking the same. I just love how stuff like this looks:

Plastic forms shiny spots and scratches and dull areas, but it never quite looks as interesting as worn metal. And in the case of shiny spots, it tends to look disgusting. Anyone else agree?
