GS4 Tips, suggested apps and games, I sent to my brother.

I put together a few tips and apps for my brother when he got his Galaxy S4 and figured someone else might get some value out of it.

Some quick tips for the GS4

  • Long pressing the menu button (lower left) will open 'Google Now' a handy card based reminder and suggestion based tool the accesses all sorts of Google to give you what it thinks is relevant to you. Stuff like calendar events, directions you've searched recently ect.

  • Long pressing the center button will get you to recent apps

  • Pressing and holding the power and center button at the same time will take a screenshot.

  • In settings under connections data usage will show you how much data you use per app some apps will chew through data like Pandora. Others like the play store have settings to limit data to wifi only.

Apps

  • S health app - (already installed on GS4 [not available on others]) when setup will track steps and some other things.

  • Dropbox - free photo and file backup up to a 5 gig limit the GS4 supposedly comes with extra space free for a year. There is also a windows app that can access or upload files.
