Chrome Font Rendering

Sorry if this is posted in the wrong place, but this is a rather active forum and it seems to be Google-oriented anyway.

With the recent Google Play web store redesign, the Roboto font was used in every single bit of text. For some reason, though my Chrome browser is incapable of rendering it properly. The thin text almost seems to break at smaller sizes, and italics are particularly bad. As you can see, the capital "F" and the "e"s present in the reviews simply are incomplete. This issue occurred and is still a problem for me since the Google Music website redesign, which I love. What I don't love, however, is how readability for text on Google Music and Google Play has taken a hit on my browser.

What's confusing is that the font looks alright on my friends' browsers as well as renders wonderfully on my Chromebook. I've tried Googling the issue and messed with the ClearType and chrome flags as the people suggest, but nothing works. The beta Chrome channel as well as the stable channel are the same. I hope someone has a solution or at least any news regarding this, because it is frustrating. Let me know if you have the same issue.

Thanks for your time!
