Is Apple going to redesign OS X, too? ...

... I think it's not as left behind as iOS was, but Aqua does seem to be a bit outdated design wise.

With Mavericks they introduced some changes, but are they going to revamt the whole OS in iOS 7's fashion? I Would like them to. OS X doesn't feel this outdated, but it kind of doesn't fit with the (as some would call it) 'flat' design of iOS 7.

For example look at this icons, which one doesn't fit?

They redesigned the calendar app to match iOS but sort of forgot the icon:

But with iBooks for Mac they showed us a little, how things could go with Mac OS. The Icon isn't (like with iTunes or the Mac App Store) looking like metal, and they didn't add shadows. The app itself shows some kind of familiarity, while looking a bit like the stores in iOS 7:

With the newly added Maps app they show similar design, making an icon, that looks like the iOS one.

But looking at the already existing apps like Notes, Reminders, Game Center, Contacts or iPhoto (nobodies camera looks like this these days) Apple dind't change much or anything. Neither icons nor the UI of the apps. So while 'flat', transparent, and fresh iOS 7 will be out, OS X Mavericks users will be stuck with the old Photo Booth with a red curtain and wooden frame.

But as I said, I my opinion, this won't be the case for too long, since Apple already is making a lot of small tweaks and changes in it's UI e.g.. the Notes UI (not icon):

So maybe or maybe not OS X 10.10 or OS XI will look a little like this:
