At a Verizon press conference in Chicago this morning, a Motorola spokesman noted that Verizon's new Droid Ultra, Maxx, and Mini aren't made in the US. "They're designed in the US, made in Asia," he said.

It's notable because Motorola has made a big deal of the fact that Moto X — the company's hotly-rumored early August launch — is being assembled at a former Nokia facility, run by contract manufacturer Flextronics, in Texas. Motorola has said in recent weeks that the Texas plant is large enough to scale up and take on additional capacity, so it's likely that future devices will be made alongside X — just not this latest round of Verizon exclusives.
