If my hometown isnt what I want it to be in the future should I move elsewhere?
Only being 20 I have only lived in one place my whole life. Indianapolis, Indiana is my hometown. The home of the Indy 500, Super Bowl XLVI, my beloved Indiana Pacers, and Indianapolis Colts. There are a lot of things I love about my city but also a few areas they really need to improve on. For me mass transit is a huge deal. Indianapolis, is the 13th largest city in the United States yet all we have to show for mass transit is a woefully inadequate bus system. If you live in my city everyone has a car, and you have to drive everywhere to get places. The only real reason I can think of that mass transit initiatives never got far in state house, or senate was because of cost issues. This will cost too much, or we don't want to raise taxes etc. etc. The only other issue which is more to do with the fact I live in a conservative state. Is the gay marriage issue. The governor of my state wants to amend the state constitution to ban gay marriage. I don't if it will happen or not. I know a large number of people in my city want gay marriage. Yet if you go to the small towns all over my state they wont want that at all. My take is gay marriage will happen sooner or later so just let it happen. One of the few benefits of my city is its relatively cheap to live here. When you compare rent or home prices to Chicago or any other big city in the mid-west its pretty cheap in comparison. That's why a lot of people move here in the first place. Now I do love my city and we have a lot of good things. It just these two little things that irk me. I feel I will move at some point in life I don't know where but, I will do it because I love adventure and seeing new places.
