Why are people so angry? It's pretty simple...
The Moto X is meant to be marketed and sold as the iPhone of the Android world. It's not about the specs or an incredible price. It's about an intuitive, easy and appealing experience with some cool features and colours. It's meant to feel good.
All the die-hard Android fans are so angry about the price, but the Moto X simply wasn't designed for them and won't be marketed to them.
Wait for the Nexus 4-2/Nexus 5/whatever. It'll be subsidised by Google and no one outside of the Android Army will know about it, but it'll be the phone for us.
If the Moto X sells well and gets more iOS, Blackberry and WP users to switch over, I'm all for it, and you should be too.
