Chromebook / Cloudprint / Galaxy Note 2 /
I am the happy owner of a Galaxy Note 2 and a samsung Chromebook ala $249 dollars from bestbuy with arm processor.
I have been a happy chrome book user thinking the only thing that would make this whole android/chrome book universe rock more is the ability to print anything.
Enter cloud printing! The coolest and creepiest thing I have ever seen. I have a non supported Canon MX340 ink jet printer. It was a toss in on an old pc purchase. Free printer with a network card. Woo hoo. I finally set it up on the network today as a stand alone printer and gave it WPA 2 access to the router and made it viewable to all on the network. Easy enough.
Enter the cloud print magic. I then downloaded chrome on one of the desktop pc's on the network and logged into gmail and google cloud print and enabled access. I then closed the browser.
Opened up chrome book and 5 seconds later logged in. Opened gmail and then a pdf document and hit ctrl-p and the cloud print prompt opened up. My printer from my home network was there. I pressed enter and the document printed in my laundry room. The home printer is in the laundry room. It worked.
My note 2 can function as a hotspot, chrome book with logmein is a workstation and I can print from anywhere.
It is a very potent combination. As long as I don't save any of my passwords in the clear text encrypted browser.
Check it out.
