New app brings live pay-per-view events to the PlayStation 3

The PlayStation 3’s new live streaming video app is now available to download, and just in time for the WWE’s SummerSlam pay-per-view event this Sunday. The app is called Live Events Viewer and Sony says it will be used to serve up both free and paid content, including concerts, sports, and wrestling. New events will be added weekly, and you can see upcoming events in the app's calendar.
The Xbox 360's official WWE app brought pay-per-view wrestling to the platform back in April, but this is the first time the PlayStation 3 is getting the same functionality. Unfortunately, Live Events Viewer is limited to the US for now, but if you want to give it a shot, SummerSlam is airing on Sunday at 7PM ET for $44.95.
