John Gruber nails it on the iPhone 5C

John Gruber on the supposed iPhone 5C:

"The 5C is not about selling a piece of junk to some sort of unwashed masses; it's about continuing to push the price down to expand the iPhone's market without changing what the iPhone brand stands for."

One thing Gruber wrote in his piece that I disagree with though, is that Apple will keep the iPhone 5 around as a mid-tier model. In my post a couple weeks ago in this forum, I argued that because production costs likely remain high on the high-end iPhone 5, and because performance wise (based on leaks and rumors) the 5S won't be a huge leap, Apple could very well get rid of the iPhone 5 all together, and simply sell two models from now on.
