Why do so many websites work better when I change IE11's user agent string?
Hey guys! I am using IE11 and had some problems with certain websites, eg Facebook (didnt show the chat bar on IE11). So I tried something and changed the user agent string to Firefox. And guess what? All those websites work now! I am not a real web developer, so can somebody please explain: How can it be that a simple user agent string can turn a website into a mess for my IE11 although it is actually possible to render these websites correctly? I mean... How can Microsoft be successful with their browser if web developers choose to make their websites suck on IE11 (and blame its compability afterwards). Dont get me wrong, but I just love IE since version 9 and want it to be as popular as it should be. For me, it's the best browser for "classic browsing".
