From PocketNow - HTC One: After the Buzz
Since the HTC One is (finally) coming to Verizon, this seems like the perfect time to discuss how well it's held up over time. As usual, the folks at PocketNow have done a great job breaking it down with their After the Buzz series:

Not much more to add to the video, other than to say everything I said in my own review still holds up as well. I've considering rooting and roming every now and then, but honestly, that's just the tinkerer in me, and the desire usually fades pretty quickly - the phone does 99% of what I want, and does it well, and I don't see any reason to risk breaking functionality just to have the latest and greatest or to fiddle around with stock Android. Sense 5 is still surprisingly great, and Android 4.1.2 is still a solid base for it. Sure, I'd love some of the newer features in 4.2.2 and 4.3, but there's nothing I desperately want except perhaps notification toggles and DashClock support. Overall, I still recommend the One to people today, even with great phones like the Moto X and the Lumia 1020 entering the market.
