Is Chromecast Setting the Stage for a Game Console?
Chromecast controls things on screen by giving a command over the internet.
This could potentially apply to gaming too.
Instead of slowing things down by mirroring content off a device, a console would have the same games downloaded as paired devices and receive commands over wifi like the Chromecast does.
This could make for a better second screen experience with lower latency than mirroring.
And if Google released a controller API and controller accessories with a low priced console, Google could have a hit on its hands.
A next gen Snapdragon or Tegra 5 could make the graphics amazing.
Google could potentially go even more radical and go for streaming all the games but it'd have to find a way to lower latency.
