The Next to play BATMAN?
Rumors have it that the next actor to play BATMAN is going to be more "seasoned", "mature", in their "40's" or in a word "old". This apparently means that directors are also looking to fill the role with an actor who is comparable to that age.
While it makes sense that Bruce Wayne would be portrayed as an age in the movie where he is not "coming of age" but rather he has "arrived", hollywood may find themselves in the same situation as they currently are with Hugh Jackman. Hugh plays Wolverine who is immortal. In the most recent movie, one character remarks that Wolverine has not changed in over fifty years. "Really? He hasn't changed or aged?" Apparently they weren't watching the movie on an Ultra Screen because Hugh definitely looks older than the last movie he was in and especially the one before.
Considering movies are in the making for at least two years on average or more, casting a would be now 40 something for a series of movies would mean that Batman would be heading well into his 50s by the time they cranked out at least three in a series of movies. I don't know about you but a fifty year old Batman sounds kind of old to me.
So, who are the would be candidates for the next Batman movies? Let's take a look and get an idea of how well you think they will hold up in the next ten years should they take on the roll.
1. Gerard Butler
2. Brad Pitt
Let's take a look at some others who aren't currently in the running as candidates but are top picks on my chart:
Whether you prefer a younger, greener, hotter Batman or a wiser, older, more seasoned caped avenger, there's no denying that whoever is going to play Batman must be able to pull off the look AND the acting. In my opinion the top picks sought out potentially by Hollywood may be missing the mark. Although I would personally go see Batman regardless of who they cast in it simply for the love of Batman, good or bad, I am hoping that the cast will be spectacular and that they will find the perfect candidate to bring the role to life.
The most recent Batman was enjoyable although so much of the plot had holes. If they really want to be successful, they should go with a younger Batman who can carry a more mature role and reinforce every part of the plot to avoid any potential gaps.
Who do you want to see?
My top pick, well that's pretty easy 'Old Sport' ..................
