Film shooters, which scanner do you use?

12

I'm getting started with film photography, but I'm not sure which scanner to get. After doing some research online, I've come down to two options: the Epson V600, or the Plustek Opticfilm 8200i. However, opinions online seem to be very divided, with some people claiming a flatbed scanner is good enough and others swearing by the higher resolution of a dedicated film scanner. I'm kind of torn myself: I like the idea of a dedicated film scanner, but it's more expensive, from a brand I'm not familiar with, and can't scan medium format film if I ever make the jump to that. The Epson is cheaper, but also bigger and I'm worried about not being satisfied with the image quality. What do you think? What do you use to scan film?
