Basic usability issues with WP8

I’ve been using WP since they day it released. As much as I like the OS, there are quite a few things that I was expecting to be introduced in WP8/GDR1/GDR2, but haven’t arrived yet. Some of these features that I sorely miss were available before the smart phone era and therefore should be basic features in WP. 1. Call blocking – Why should I not have the ability to block unwanted calls? Is this expecting too much from my smart phone? With so many spam calls lurking around, this is a feature that is equivalent to spam filters in mail sever s and is a must! 2. Txt sorting - This is pretty irritating. I was using one of the basic Nokia phones while my 920 was away for servicing and therefore all my txts got stored in the sim. Once I got my 920 back, I noticed that sim messages are always displayed first even though there are txt messaged from the same contact that are later than those on the sim! This is totally absurd! 3. Call recording – What is your problem MSFT? This was available in WinMo, its available in most basic phones then why not WP? I can understand the legal liabilities. However, isn’t the onus on the user to be aware of the law of the land and use features judiciously? Is it asking for too much? 4. Txt msgs to multiple users – Okay, so I can send txt to more than one recipient on the To list. I am not sure if this is still and issue in wp8, but group texting is performed as an MMS. If this is still the case with WP8 (was in WP7), why? I have to pay extra for MMS, so it doesn’t work for me and neither would it for most plans. 5. WP8 Settings – This is the most irritating view in WP8. It is difficult to figure out which setting is where! Why cant MSFT just add icons (as someone suggested in a concept post) against the names, it will be so much easier to spot the settings I want to change. 6. Accessing settings – I always have to go through the settings app. I can see the status of some of the settings in the sys tray. Why cant I double click or Click+Hold to go to the settings directly from the sys tray? It seems so much more intuitive and easier to use. I can go on and on and on… but I am more interested in what others feel about these or anything else that they find very annoying in WP. I am only looking at ways of improving the usability of the platform…
