An option for the Surface v2
I just read an article discussing hacking the Surface RT to run (some) desktop apps (that are compatible with ARM) It involved flipping a bit in the OS from allowing MS only (signed) apps to allowing all Apps. This got me thinking, would you consider buying a Surface 2 that ran a next-gen Atom, but was set to MS only apps (with the option to turn that off somewhere deep in the OS)? This would eliminate the lame parts of the OS like viruses and pre-installed OEM junk for common users, but would allow savy people to say, install development tools, simple games, chrome, etc. All with the all-day battery life that my surface pro doesn't have, full win 8, and connected standby. and with Atom that could be priced at the <$500 range, as many current models are.
