Nexus 4 or wait or something else?
Looking to buy a phone. Fairly tight budget. I don't want to deal with carrier-doesn't-provide-updates rubbish. If understand correctly, that means either updates from Google, or Cyanogenmod and friends. And I do want good community support too, in case I decide I don't trust Google's builds for some reason, or I want to take more matters into my own hands, or whatever. I'm on a budget, so I'll live with a less-than-awesome camera. A Nexus 4 seems pretty appealing, but I have a few concerns. Does the battery life suck? Will the phone be badly outdated soon? I'm also a little afraid of not having LTE, though I hear AT&T's HSPA+ is pretty decent. Is there another manufacturer that makes a phone with good 3rd party ROM support? Will the Nexus 5 cost more than the Nexus 4 initially did? Should I save some clams and wait for the 5? I'm getting a bit anxious to have a phone though. Random note: Ebay has plenty of overpriced Nexus 4s. You're welcome. FWIW, I prob won't be able to stomach more expensive service right away. I have some work coming up but I might not get paid for a month or more. I'll probably use Aio though.
I'll send you baconish thoughts for your trouble.
