What risks does my school face not having upgraded from Windows XP?
Well, another year has just started, and my school is still on Windows XP.
We all know that Microsoft's support for the OS is going to be dropped in April, so I was wondering exactly what things the school would have to protect itself against after then, and how big the risk of getting hacked really is.
I'm sure they have additional firewalls and protection and all that in place, but if there are some really big risks despite that, I might be able to convince them to look more seriously at upgrading over the next summer.
Lastly: I'll be meeting with the principal over some technology-related stuff pretty soon anyway, so if I have some good arguments for going away from XP, I'd be able to bring that up at least semi-convincingly, too.
