iOS 7 AirPlay Usability Issue: Button Missing
So Apple moved AirPlay controls to the Control Center in iOS 7. This is fine, but in the process they seemed to remove the AirPlay button from the Music App and lock screen audio controls. Why does this suck?
1) While driving in the car, you put on your bluetooth headset in case you get a call, suddenly the music switches to your bluetooth headset. It used to require two quick taps to get it back. It now requires a swipe up, a squint, a tap, and then another tap to switch audio output. Very dangerous while driving.
2) If you deactivate Control Center on the lock screen for security reasons then you *cannot* change AirPlay speakers from the lock screen because there is no AirPlay button displayed.
3) If you deactivate Control Center "in apps" (mind you this is an all-or-nothing setting) then you cannot switch AirPlay speakers while in the Music app -- a usability nightmare.
Whoever thought it was a good idea to remove the AirPlay button that was adjacent to the standard iOS audio controls in the Music app and lock screen made a huge mistake. Apple needs to fix this.
