Is Mapping solution more important to Nokia than their Imaging Solution and Future?
Of late Nokia is doing some really cool things. Nokia 1020 is an amazing camera phone taking great shots, pushing imaging capabilities of smartphone and bettering the already awesome camera of Nokia 920. Nokia 925 is another impressive device in itself. A thin & stunning camera phone which is amazing & good looking by itself. Nokia Tablet looks impressive too, considering all the cool hardware things its gonna come packaged with in a beautiful thin case.
But what is MS doing? They are doing what they do best. SIT ON THEIR ASSES. Not even a bloody roumer of what they are planning next for future releases, simply because there is nothing cool to reveal at all!
Its really sad & heart breaking to see an awesome company like Nokia going down fighting. Its not like they are a Blackberry where in they had no choices to make.
Elop pushed Nokia into Burning furnace and the only reason he did that, was because, if Nokia were to make Android phones, then that would mean their own Nokia Maps would be rendered useless due to heavy integration of Google maps in Android & Google is not foolish to let their Golden goose die & Accept Nokia's proposal.
But Did Elop forget a simple basic fact that Nokia is much more than their Navteq or Nokia Maps?
I totally defend the idea that Android doesn't need Nokia. It already has Samsung, LG, HTC, Sony, Motorola, Huawei and numerous Other OEM's to take care of it. But Nokia needs Android. Had they been a little more resilient, With thousands of exclusive Nokia stores all round the world, I am sure the world would have seen 1020 & 925 running Android today and selling like Hotcakes all round the world.
