Background downloading STILL missing from iOS7!
This is starting to piss me off! I am a huge podcast listener, I listen to like 30 podcasts a week. I got very excited when I saw that Downcast allows "Background Feed refresh."
So I set it to refresh my feeds every hour. I noticed that the feeds would refresh, but my podcasts wouldn't download. Apparently this is still a limitation with iOS, in that an app can refresh data but still can't actually download things like podcasts without the app being open.
Is this true? Is there still no work around for this?
Honestly, I don't think that I would ever switch to android, however if this can be done properly on android it is a feature I would consider getting an android device for and start dabbling. Who knows? It could lead to me potentially switching down the road...probably not. But Apple needs to add this in 7.1 or 8.0. I'm getting tired of the "Background downloading time limit" warning!
