What Do You Look For In A Phone?

Everyone's mobile needs vary, and when you factor in brand-loyalty, personal opinion, and unfounded bias, you get a bunch of different answers for the same question.

Personally, I like a phone that looks good, is thin and light, and has a great UI. Honestly, I could almost care less about service reliability. If Verizon doesn't have the latest awesome phone, and T-Mobile does, I'm switching carriers at my earliest opportunity.

This may seem dumb to most, but to me, it makes perfect sense. I buy phones because I like things that look and feel nice. Metro UI is my favorite, because as a graphic designer, it's beautiful to look at. It's not as customizable as Android or iOS, but that's not the point. It's aesthetically pleasing, and so I'm more inclined towards it than other phones.

iOS 7 is a pretty paint job, but doesn't really offer any major upgrades over iOS 6. I even have several friends who lament that they opted to upgrade in the first place, claiming it's "cluttered" and "all over the place". Since I don't have an iPhone, I can't really comment one way or another.

So what about you? What features do you look for in a phone that you absolutely must have over anything else offered on a mobile device?
