Here's a better idea for the sticky menu

The sticky menu is a good idea, for quick navigation. But then you run into the same thing every detractor of onscreen buttons for Android moans about: less screen space.

The alternative:

What some sites and apps are doing now is a menu/header that just scrolls out of screen, but reappears once you *start* scrolling up.

In terms of interaction design I feel that would be much better.. Basically it gets out of the way and lets you enjoy the content fully, but once you give the indication that you want to go somewhere else (scroll back up) you're provided with the nav.

What do you guys think?
