Microsoft stock plummets after Nokia deal
So, a little bit of financial commentary...
I was really surprised to see Microsoft stock down nearly 5% (update: over 6%) at the open this morning after announcing that it bought Nokia's phone business. We all know why Nokia is up so much, because it's getting tons of cash, but nobody seems to be optimistic about this deal, from the press, to tech people, to shareholders.
I see this as a pretty good time to buy shares considering they are at down so much their high this summer at $36. Even though I didn't like the deal as a Nokia stockholder, as I firmly believe that the company could have been quite successful in the long run as a partner, this is a pretty good deal for Microsoft getting Nokia for such a cheap price. Kind of perplexing the way Wall Street is behaving, even more than usual.
