Droid Maxx Long Term Battery Testing
As a follow up to the post I made, Droid Maxx First Impressions, I wanted to share an update on the battery life after just over 2 weeks with the phone now.
I am a pretty light user, but I have been really impressed with the battery life. To go over 2 days without charging with normal use and still have 44% battery life left is pretty amazing.
Even on heavy usage days I have been very impressed with the battery life. I played a game for 2 hours straight and only saw a 4% hit in battery life. I downloaded over 20 gigs of music with less than a 10% hit.
I have gone from always worrying about my phones battery life to not even thinking about it anymore. I feel like we have finally reached where smartphone should have been all along.
As for the negative review of the Droid Maxx, it is nearly the same exact phone as the Moto X but with a bigger battery and screen. Yet somehow because the reviewer didn't like the design it gets a score 3 points lower. I actually like the design of it and it feels great in the hand. The score should be higher than the X because of the amazing battery life.
As for the DROID stuff on the phone, the only thing you see ongoing is the startup animation and sound. I never turn off my phone so it doesn't bug me at all. Everything else can be easily turned off or removed in the case of the ugly widget. I disabled any excess apps Verizon put on the phone too. So I have the exact same phone as the Moto X once it is booted up. For the reviewer being a techie it seems odd that he couldn't take the minute it takes to remove any Droid branding or sounds.
Anyone else with the Maxx? Post your battery screenshots below.
