We've known for some time that Tarantino's (unrelated) follow-up to Django Unchained will be a western, but anonymous sources tell Deadline and other publications that it'll be called The Hateful Eight. According to the site, a finished draft of the script is being shown to actors that Tarantino is considering for a role in the film. Among the rumored stars are Christoph Waltz, who previously collaborated with Tarantino on Inglourious Basterds and Django, and Bruce Dern, who recently saw his performance in Nebraska rewarded with a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy.
The finished draft is likely to be tweaked in the coming months as Tarantino responds to feedback and refines the script. After that, funding will be worked out and the project will head towards shooting — in other words, these are early, early days in the movie's production.
