The prolific and influential Damon Albarn (of Blur and Gorillaz, to name two of his many projects) has just released the first music video from his upcoming solo album, Everyday Robots, and it's just as strangely artistic as we'd expect. Albarn's acts have often pushed the envelope visually, and the video for lead single and tltle "Everyday Robots" brings us closer to the songwriter than ever before — right into his head. The video, directed by Aitor Throup, uses cranial scans of Albarn's skull as a canvas for a CGI artist to paint on — it starts off abstract, with manipulations that seem both humorous and slightly unsettling. But before long the CGI doodles turn the skull into something much more recognizable, creating a uniquely digital portrait of Albarn. Everyday Robots is Albarn's first proper solo record and will be released on April 29th.
