iPhone 5 vs Nexus 5?
I'm due for a new phone sometime in the next 3 months. Verge posters seem to have lots of opinions on mobile direction so I'm taking all suggestions. I've done a fair bit of research in recent months and still feel that I'm at a bit of a standstill between an iPhone and the Nexus5. I've listed a few of my preferences and tendencies below. Please note that there is room to consider other phones as well... I understand the iPhone6 and Samsung S5 are both likely coming down the pipe in the near future... so I suppose those could be options, but for now I'll keep it to phones available.
I'm currently using an Apple iPhone4. It's been great but is definitely showing its age, especially since the ios7 update. My understanding is the ios is not an issue on newer devices. I wouldn't consider myself a heavy user, but at the same time, I do take the time to follow tech, and enjoy the apps I use. I mostly use the phone for music, podcasts, checking email... and then the regular phone calls and messaging functions. I use the camera/video infrequently, but it's nice to have something there. I very much enjoy the iphone's integration with airplay / airport express for wireless speakers but i understand there are Android apps that can work with this as well. I have a Nexus 7 that I have been enjoying and that is partly the reason Nexus 5 is of interest to me. I am heavily invested in the google suite of apps. And it would be nice to have a slightly larger screen than the iPhone5 offers. I believe I would be happy with an iphone5 or nexus5 so maybe it's not worth worrying about if that is the case.
So hopefully that gives enough info for suggestions. I realize this topic has been beaten to death and there are many threads out there, but more information is always good! Any posts are appreciated in helping make this decision!
