Sony Pictures has reportedly acquired the film rights to Lean In: Women, Work, and the Will to Lead, Sheryl Sandberg's blockbuster 2013 book about women in the workplace. According to Deadline, the script will be written by Hollywood veteran Nell Scovell, and, rather than write a Sandberg biopic, she will pen an original narrative weaving in themes explored in the book. Sandberg will donate the proceeds from the film to the Lean In Foundation.

Lean In became a cultural phenomenon last year, sparking a movement behind it to push women to higher echelons of power and success. No release date has been set for the film, but it promises to be the second Facebook-related movie since 2010's The Social Network.
