How would you like the revival of the design of Macbook Air (1st Gen)??

The first and second generations of the Macbook Air's implemented the design of putting all the ports hidden under a sliding panel. I don't know why they didn't continue doing that but I just love the simplicity of that. Obviously it is different for different usage scenarios, but for me I rarely use any of the 10 ports on my current laptop. Would it be a good idea to bring that ports-design back, considering how now USB and Thunderbolt are multipurpose with converters(ethernet/usb hub/card readers/hdmi)? So, just 4 port: Charging, Headphone/Mic, USB & Thunderbolt, for a full fledged laptop?
