My Experience w/ Sony's PS4 Customer Service
"Listen to my story. This may be our last chance."

Early adopters. We endure so much. It's hardly unexpected--we're the first run, and there are always kinks to be ironed out. This is just part of the early adopter experience. That's why I wasn't surprised when I had a hardware issue. Boondock Saints II DVD wouldn't eject, but not for lack of effort. You could hear gears turning, trying to spit the disc out, but the little guy just couldn't do it. Decided to call Sony tomorrow. Needed to get some sleep anyway.

Called Sony. Nice guy. Had to be from the US. Mentioned he hadn't seen The Boondock Saints II, but that the first was awesome. Don't worry, I let him know. It's an unfortunate disc to have stuck in the system. Anyway, the old System Refresh he walked me through was a dud, and I didn't have a screwdriver small enough to perform a manual eject. Got my info, said he'd overnight a box--FedEx, prepaid--and email instructions. He said they'd likely just send a brand new unit. Call took 20 minutes while I was making dinner. Burnt the garlic bread, but spaghetti and meatballs turned out great. Enough leftovers for lunch. Perfect.

Got home from work to find a box outside my apartment door at around 4:40 P.M. Nothing inside but some foam and a plastic sleeve. I threw in my PS4, packing slip with SR number, proof of purchase. FedEx pickup happened 20 minutes ago. It'd have to wait until tomorrow.

Left work a bit early to make sure I dropped the package off before FedEx already rolled through the closest drop-off point. OfficeMax. I'd worked at one of those for 2 years while finishing up college. Just left last May. They shipped this year's W-2 to the wrong address. Not a fan.

Played my fair share of Wind Waker HD. Just gotta nab the Triforce Shards and I'm on my way to stab Ganondorf in the **SPOILERS** forehead **END SPOILERS**. Anyway, I checked the status of my PS4 online. "Shipment Received. Service Pending."

As I live and breathe. There's a knock on my door and a PS4 is on the other side. Logged into my SEN account online, deactivated the old system, and got the new one up and running. Thank the heavens for cloud saves. I had some pretty baller Resogun scores.
So yeah. Seven days and zero hassle. I'd call that a win.
