Tweaking Metro: redesigning the Windows Phone hubs (concept)

I have expressed some opinion on this before, as have others, but I personally feel that the panorama headers in Windows Phone take up too much space at the expense of displaying information, and just in general go against the "content over chrome" mantra of Windows Phone guidelines.

For example, if I'm in the people app, I know that I'm in the people app, and would rather not be told with 1/3 of the screen that that's where I am. Instead, I feel a small, stationary title with a small, simple icon would work perfectly well to indicate what app is in use, while still allowing for much more content to be shown where ever lists are concerned.

Disclaimer: If you like Windows Phone's current panorama headers, that's fine. But I personally feel that metro on WP should evolve to be more functional, as well as beautiful. Without further ado, below are my concepts for the (slightly) redesigned core hubs of Windows Phone.

Right now the people hub is white text on black background, and I find that white text on images usually looks a little better, so I've added in the facebook cover photo and twitter banner images to cycle as a background.
