Earlier this week, file-sharing app Droplr announced that it was going to discontinue its free plans and start charging for its service — now we have an idea of how much it'll cost. The new Droplr Lite plan costs $4.99 per month or $49.99 a year and offers users the ability to share any file up to 2GB in size. There's also no limit to how many files you can share — you can upload as many files to you want to your Droplr cloud. There's also a "pro" tier for $9.99 per month ($99.99 per year) that includes extra perks like longer URLs for enhanced security, the ability to embed files on forums or blogs, and an inbox that organizes any files sent to you via Droplr.

Droplr is giving current users a month of service for free so they can try it out without having to pay, and anyone who signs up will get 30 percent discount for the life of their subscription. While Droplr isn't quite as full-featured as competitors like Google Drive or Dropbox, the allure of unlimited file sharing will likely keep lots of users happy — if they're willing to sign up.
