Amazon puts Kindle vending machine in Vegas airport to tempt CES escapees

Amazon has sold Kindles using vending machines before, and is doing it once again at the McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas. GeekWire spotted the machine, which is selling both Fire tablets and traditional E Ink display Kindles, along with accessories like cases and power adapters. All those items are being sold for the same price as on Amazon's website.

Same prices as online

The machines were apparently installed earlier this week, just in time for the Consumer Electronics Show, which ends tomorrow and where Amazon was not present. They're the same ones the company used in a temporary pop-up store in San Francisco two months ago in the run-up to the holiday shopping season. An Amazon spokesperson told The Verge it was "very happy with the customer response so far," though did not say whether the machine would be a long-term addition to the airport.
