The Archie Comics gang will face off against the Predator in upcoming comic

Say what now?

The folks behind the iconic Archie Andrews character are putting him in some extreme situations lately — after showing how Archie dies (saving his gay friend from a gunshot), the whole Archie gang is going to have a run-in with the Predator. As reported by USA Today, Dark Horse Comics and Archie Comics are joining forces for a four-issue Archie Meets Predator miniseries, set to debut in the spring of 2015. Apparently, the basic plot is that the Archie gang will get targeted by the Predator while on vacation in Costa Rica.

Archie vs Predator

The series will be written by Alex de Campi, who told USA Today that the opportunity to write such a series is "completely insane." She's really looking forward to the opportunity of mashing these two entirely distinct genres together and inflicting pain on the good-hearted gang from Riverdale: "Let's take this gentle, beloved, classic teen cast and hunt them down and slaughter them one by one," she says. "Seriously, if you wouldn't jump at the chance to write something like this, you need your head examined."

It's worth noting that this is hardly the first time the Archie crew have faced some pretty bizarre circumstances. As noted by Polygon, past crossovers have pitted Archie against The Punisher, and the gang has also faced off against a horde of zombies. How many will manage to survive against the Predator is anyone's guess, however.
