iPads, and more?

Apple announcements are coming fast and furious this fall. Fresh off the huge launch of the iPhone 6 lineup and the Apple Watch, plus the considerably rockier launch of iOS 8, the company has announced another event for October 16th. This time we expect to see new iPads, new iMacs, possibly new MacBooks and MacBook Airs, and the official launch and rollout of Mac OS X Yosemite.

Unlike the iPhone launch, which was held at the gigantic Flint Center in Cupertino (next to a big white building Apple built just for the occasion), next Thursday's announcement will take place at the Town Hall Auditorium on Apple's campus. It's where Apple announced the iPhone 5S, and is a much smaller and more intimate venue. Where the iPhone and Apple Watch event was supposed to be a spectacle, next week's announcement should be a little more subdued.

No matter what, though — whether Apple only has a simple new iPad to show, or it announces a television and a virtual reality headset and a spaceship and who knows what else – we'll be there live next week. Keep it locked.
