Google putting the squeeze on small OEMs
Android police just ran an interesting article yesterday. Apparently Google has had enough of devices launching with decrepit software and tarnishing the Android brand. So they will effectively force OEMs to launch devices with much more recent software or face losing the GMS license.
That will effectively mean that smaller hardware manufacturers will be forced to run a much closer to stock version, because they will not have enough time to splice it open and "beautify" it. It also makes a lot more sense now why KK was made to run on lesser hardware.
