During a panel event at Mobile World Congress today, Motorola's Rick Osterloh announced that the company plans to bring its Moto Maker customization service to Western Europe and Mexico in the second quarter this year. Until this point, Moto Maker has been an exclusive to US customers of the Moto X.

Moto Maker lets buyers customize their Moto X smartphone with a variety of different colors and finishes, including various styles of wooden backs, and then have it shipped directly to their door. The company has long said that it is able to offer this service in the US because of its Texas-based assembly plant, though it has not committed to opening new plants in Europe or Mexico to offer it there.
