Surface Mini - the tablet Microsoft should (but probably won't) make.

I really want a good 8 inch tablet. I used to have the iPad Mini and it was cool and all, then it got laggy with iOS7 and the screen was bothering me enough so I got rid of it. I was thinking of getting the retina one but i wasn't entirely convinced. I really like the Surface. The rumours seem to indicate that microsoft is going to launch an 8 inch Surface Mini soon. I am pretty sure they are gonna screw it up with an ARM processor. I get the the "ARM is better for tablets" argument and looking at Surface Pro (especially the original one) I understand why wouldn't they use x86 CPU in the 8 inch tablet. But then something happened - Atom Bay Trail happened.

Amongst others - Lenovo Ideapad 8 happened:

  • 2.4GHz quad-core Intel Bay Trail
  • 8.3" Full HD 1920x1200 16x10 IPS display
  • USB 3.0 OTG port, HDMI out, MicroSD slot
  • FULL Windows 8
  • 8 hours battery
THIS is the hardware that Surface Mini needs. Make it thicker and put a full sized usb on it and a slightly bigger battery (10-12 hours) and we have a winner.
What to you guys think?
