Active Display on Moto360? Could it be always on?

If Motorola puts it's Active Display tech from the Moto X into the Moto360 could they manage to get all day battery life out of the watch with the display on at all times? They would only have to keep on enough pixels to show 2 clock hands.

What I'm really wondering is are the power saving features of Active Display enough to feasibly keep the screen on at all times? I've done some quick Google searches and I couldn't find any info on the power draw of the Active Display feature vs the whole screen being on...
