The 2014 iMac?
You see peeps, here's the situation:
Back in early 2007 my parents bought an iMac (the 20 inch, late 2006 model). It's been a good and generally well-behaved computer for the past seven years. Lately, the HDD has become quite full, it is perpetually stuck running 10.6.6, the Intel Core 2 Duo and 1GB of RAM are blatantly showing their age, and it's obviously time for a new computer.
So, my question is, what do you people think that this year's revision of the iMac will bring to the table? If it is merely a minor spec bump or shift to Broadwell, I think we'll definitely bite the bullet and buy the current iMac. But if a retina HiDPI screened iMac is likely to drop, I'm inclined to persuade my parents to wait. There has been some hints towards desktop retina display support with the latest dev release of 10.9.3, or so I've heard.
So what do you think will happen with the 2014 iMac, and/or, what would you do?
