What is so 'touch only' about the Window 8 Start screen??
Now first off, I am not a big fan of Windows 8 in general. I think it has a truckload of annoyances. What I cannot fathom though, is why people think the Start screen is such an offensive structure for non-touch/mouse users. With a Windows key 'to hand' i.e, under your thumb, the Windows 8 Start screen is a very efficient app switcher. The app you want is larger and usually much closer to your pointer than the alternative edge mounted task bar setup.
Windows 8 may deserve some bemoaning, but the Start screen really isn't the problem.
I have a Windows 8 VAIO Pro 13 with an untouched touchscreen.
