The Verge Weekend Magazine
I don't know if this has been proposed or discussed previously, so please forgive if it has. In the twentieth century, during the age of the printed newspaper, the Sunday Edition was always something to look forward to. Most newspapers had an extra section that contained longer, more in depth articles. You know, the ones that became nominated for Pulitzers and other awards.
The Verge has its longform section and those types of articles are published at irregular intervals throughout the week. What I propose is that you save some of these or task your writers to deliver them so that two or three are published in Sundays. I'm sure the weekends are slow times, so if everyone knew that the longforms were available on Sundays, you'd see an increase in readership on that day.
