What is a phone for?

I've said this before in a previous post, but the term "smartphone" isn't entirely accurate, and feels somewhat outdated. Smartphones post iPhone era, are and have been computers that can fit in your hand that have communication as a focus in their DNA and lineage. Today our phones can do more than anyone can really shake a stick at, they can be portable media devices, your daily newspaper, your GPS, your personal assistant, your key to instant access of the world wide web. No matter if your phone is running iOS, Android, or Windows Phone, your phone is capable of a wide variety of tasks, and has probably made your life easier in some form or fashion. So how do you use it?

What are the most common tasks you need fulfilled on your phone? What do you use it for most often? What are the most important apps to you? Essentially, how do you use it?
